DataFest@MQ 2023

Class of DataFest 2023 @ Macquarie University

Event Summary

Faculty of Science and Engineering and School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences hosted the ASA (American Statistical Association) DataFest at Macquarie University during 21st to 23rd April 2023. This was the first time we hosted the event during the official period, alongside a hundred universities around the world.

59 undergraduate students (up from 33 in 2022) from various areas of study including Statistical Modelling, Mathematics, Data Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, Decision Science, Economics, Actuarial Studies, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Marketing Management, International Business, Business Administration, Finance, Law, and Psychology participated in this year’s DataFest. In total 14 teams (up from 8 in 2022) were formed and they competed head-to-head for prizes.
