DataFest@MQ 2024

Class of DataFest 2024 @ Macquarie University

Event Summary

Faculty of Science and Engineering and School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences hosted the ASA (American Statistical Association) DataFest at Macquarie University during 19th to 21st April 2024. 86 undergraduate students (up from 59 in 2023) across the university participated in this year’s DataFest. In total 18 teams (up from 14 in 2023) were formed and they competed head-to-head for prizes.

The key innovation in this year’s event is the involvement of several R enthusiasts from our Master’s cohorts as helpers. They provided mentorship and guidance to undergraduate students throughout the event.

We also extend our thanks to the SSA NSW Branch for sponsoring the event!
